Tired of Being Tired

I am 43 and still having regular periods but I do have some symptoms of menopause coming in the near future. I am very in tune with my body. I have a fair amount of knowledge of herbal remedies and vitamins. I will start taking an herb for whatever symptom I am having concerning PMS and within a few weeks it quits working or it makes me feel very agitated. The last few months I have been feeling very tired about a week or a little more before my period. I have tried vit B complex but after a day or so, I'm feeling "MOODY". Recently I've tried Astragalus root, which helped for the first month now it makes me feel too mellow and tired. Gingseng, Gingeroot, Spirunela, Wheatgrass ect... all add to moodiness. I'm fine with more than enough energy for the first three weeks after my period.
This seems very odd, but in the winter months I have almost too much energy but when spring comes, this is what I deal with. I am open to suggestions but not looking to get into a lot of money.
