If you come up with a successful herbal remedy, is it legal to sell it?

I do not hold a degree in herbology, just a passion for it. Through trial and error I am getting close to a few products I believe in (of course all natural).

With a good legal disclaimer am I allowed to sell these products for profit?

In Australia there is an organization known as the Therapeutic Goods Administration. They are the overseer to all herbal mixes sold in Australia. To have therapeutic goods to sell they need to undergo testing to prove their efficacy. That is, to prove they do what you are claiming. This can be circumvented by only displaying the item as food quality (as opposed to therapeutic quality) and saying the contents "may" do this or "could assist" with that. Hope this helps for wherever you are :)
